The Cubetastic app
Cubetastic is free to download. The first 7 levels are free; one in-app purchase ("Full Game") unlocks all levels. The app has no account, no ads, no subscription and no tracking. The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone and iPad, advertising ID on Android) and does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt. This policy applies to the app on iPhone, iPad and Android.
We get no personal data from the app. It sends us only the anonymous statistics described below. For the in-app purchase, see In-app purchase. Your progress and your settings (for example the colorblind mode and the music setting) are stored on your device. On Android, your progress can also be saved in your Google account with Google Play Games (see Google Play Games). If you delete the app, the data on your device is deleted too. We cannot see or restore it.
Anonymous game statistics
On iPhone, iPad and Android, the app sends a small number of anonymous statistics, so that we know how many people play, which levels are too hard and which app versions are still in use. The app sends:
- one "active today" signal on the first start of each day, with the information whether it is the first start after installation
- for a level that you finish, restart or leave: the level number, the time, the number of moves and turns, and the number of restarts
- with each of these: the app version, the language of your device, the operating system version and the screen size
The app sends no player ID, no device ID and no advertising ID, and nothing that identifies you. We see only totals (for example "120 players today, 30 % finished level 2-9"). We cannot link the data to you or follow one player over time. The date of the last "active today" signal is stored only on your device.
Your device connects to our self-hosted statistics software Umami (open source) at dd.onp9.com. When it receives the data, the server finds the country, region and city from your IP address (no exact location). The IP address itself is not stored. The server is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA, certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). The data is not given to anyone else and not used for advertising or tracking. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in improving the game).
Crash reports
The app has no crash reporting of its own. If you allow your iPhone to share analytics with app developers (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple gives us anonymous crash reports. On Android, Google Play gives us anonymous crash and stability statistics (Android vitals) from devices whose users share usage and diagnostics data with Google. Apple's and Google's privacy policies apply to this.
In-app purchase
iPhone and iPad: you buy the full game with your Apple Account through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes the payment and your payment data. We do not get your name, your Apple Account or your payment data. The app checks with Apple, on your device, whether you bought the full game, and stores the result on your device. "Restore purchase" in the app asks Apple again, for example after a reinstall or on a new iPhone.
Android: you buy the full game (product com.planetfall.cubetastic.fullgame) with your Google account through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and your payment data. We do not get your name, your Google account or your payment data; in the Google Play Console we see only an order number, the country, the price and the status of each order. The app checks with Google Play, on your device, whether you bought the full game, and stores the result on your device. "Restore purchase" asks Google Play again, for example after a reinstall or on a new phone with the same Google account. Details: Google Privacy Policy.
On all systems the app uses the software component Unity IAP by Unity Technologies (USA) to talk to the App Store and to Google Play. During a purchase, this component sends technical data about the purchase to Unity: the product, the price and currency, the transaction number, the result (started, paid, failed), the app and device data (device model, operating system, language) and identifiers that Unity uses for this app installation (on iPhone and iPad an installation ID and the identifier for vendor, IDFV; on Android the Unity installation ID). The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA, Android advertising ID), so it is not sent. Unity uses this data for the operation and improvement of its purchase service, as described in the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (the purchase) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (a reliable purchase function).
Our anonymous game statistics contain nothing about the purchase: not whether you bought the full game, not the price and no transaction data.
Google Play Games (Android)
On Android the app uses Google Play Games Services for achievements, leaderboards and cloud saves. When you are signed in to Google Play Games, Google processes your Play Games profile (gamer name and avatar), the achievements you unlock, your leaderboard scores and your saved game progress, and stores them in your Google account. Depending on your Play Games settings, other players can see your gamer name, your achievements and your leaderboard scores. We do not get your Google account or your e-mail address, and we cannot read your saved games; we see only totals (for example how many players unlocked an achievement). You can use the game without Play Games, and you can manage or delete your Play Games data in your Google account. Details: Google Privacy Policy. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (the game functions that you use).
Download and sales numbers
You download the app from Apple's App Store or from Google Play. Apple and Google process the data for this. From them we get only anonymous sales and download numbers (also for the in-app purchase). Details: Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy.
Links in the app
The app links to this website. Only when you tap a link does your device connect to the other website. There, the privacy policy of that website applies.
If you send us an e-mail, for example to support@cubetasticapp.com, we use your address and your message only to answer you. E-mails to cubetasticapp.com addresses are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) to our own mailbox. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

This website sets no cookies. It is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA, certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) and may use self-hosted Umami statistics without cookies and without storing IP addresses. Full details are in the Datenschutzerklärung and the Cookie-Richtlinie (in German).
Children
We collect no personal data from anyone, including children. The data that Apple, Google and Unity process for the in-app purchase is described in In-app purchase, Google Play Games in Google Play Games.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data and to have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You can object to the processing and ask for your data in a portable format. To use these rights, write to support@cubetasticapp.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA).
